Membership Policy

The membership year is January 1 through December 31. New members are sent a packet of information and materials. Persons joining mid–year will receive all publications (including back issues) for that year. The annual dues defray the cost of benefits for the year. Memberships are non–transferable and dues are non–refundable.  New members whose dues are received after October 1 of any year receive a paid membership through the end of the following year. Membership fees in the form of a check or money order in U.S. funds payable to NWRA must accompany membership application and renewal. Credit cards are accepted for payment as well.  PayPal may also be used but please contact Central Office first for details.

The Membership Directory is published every spring and sent to all members. Members not renewing (or who have not returned the renewal form with payment) by the publication deadline cannot be included in the Directory. Corrections may be published in the newsletters.  NWRA respects member privacy and the NWRA membership list is not for sale and is not given out.

Only one symposium registration discount per year is available to each Active, Student, and Life member. Family memberships allow two symposium registration discounts. Non–members, such as spouses, friends, associates, and others who attend the symposium must pay the non–member registration fee.

Wildlife related organizations, clinics, centers, etc., are encouraged to support the National Wildlife Rehabilitators Association by joining in the Active, Family, or Life categories. Printed material can be made available to members, clients, and volunteers.
 
To take advantage of membership benefits, an individual or organization must be a current member (dues paid for the calendar year in which the benefit is requested). No retroactive benefits are considered and no refunds are made.
 
Members are encouraged to promote NWRA membership and participation to their colleagues, volunteers, and clients. The organization can benefit by members distributing at every opportunity the National Wildlife Rehabilitation Association’s membership brochure, symposium information, and literature ordering information. If you need copies contact the Central Office, and the NWRA staff will gladly mail you the materials.
