William Jessen Memorial Scholarship

$500 (US Dollars)

Application Period:  August 1- November 1

The William Jessen Memorial Scholarship is awarded to an individual whose abstract is approved for presentation at the upcoming NWRA Symposium. One or more scholarship(s) may be awarded to help defray the costs of attending the Symposium for a Symposium Speaker. This scholarship is given through NWRA by Elaine Friedman in memory of her brother, William Jessen, and in honor of all creatures that capture one's heart, expertise, and time, but never make it to release.

Financial support is provided to NWRA symposium speakers who share their valuable information, skills, and expertise with many attendees. This multiplies the positive impact through enabling rehabilitators to help many more animals.

Complete the entire Scholarship Application form (in English please). A completed Presentation Application form (including an abstract/summary) is required for each proposed presentation title.

NOTE: One or more presentations may be accepted from any speaker regardless of whether the scholarship is awarded to that speaker.

The application deadline is November 1 and the recipient is notified by January 1. The award is announced and presented at the Symposium.

Scholarship recipients are asked to write a paragraph or two for the NWRA newsletter summarizing their symposium experiences as a result of receiving the scholarship.

Please refer to the General Information section on the main scholarship page.
